2010 Universal Martial Arts Goodwill Games (Invitational) will be held at Wallkill Valley Regional High School in Hamburg, NJ on 3/28/10 (Sunday). Registration begins at 9:00 am, and the competition begins at 11 am.
2010 Universal Martial Arts Institute's Masters Promotion Testing for Jr. Masters, Masters and Grandmasters will take place on 3/21/10 (Sun) at 3 pm at the headquarter. All Jr. Black Belts and Black Belts are required to attend. Photo session will follow. All other students may also attend.
The next sparring classes will begin on February 18, 2009 and will last for 5 weeks until March 18, 2009 at the Universal Martial Arts Headquarters in Lafayette, NJ.
There will be a black belt promotion test at the Universal Martial Arts Institute\'s affiliate school in Leonia, NJ on January 16, 2009. Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim will be overseeing the testing.

On September 27, 2008 at the annual Korean Harvest Festival in Leonia, NJ, Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim received a letter of commendation / award from the President of Kukkiwon for his contibution of promoting Taekwondo.
At the annual Korean Harvest Festival in Leonia, NJ on September 27, 2008, Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim was one of the invited dignataries who oversaw the events related to Taekwondo. This year for the first time, the National Demo Team from Kukkiwon was invited to perform. Also took place was a free style team competition among schools in the tri-state area. The event ended with award ceremonies, and Grandmaster Kim received a letter of commendation from Kukkiwon. Taekwondo event drew the biggest crowd and loudest applaud.

The Tae Kwon Do Association of Greater New York presented the most prestigious Golden Award sponsored by WTF to Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim for his worldwide contribution in promoting Tae Kwon Do. The award ceremony was the highlight of the Dinner Banquet held at Queens, NY on January 28, 2007. (Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim is the current elected President of the New Jersey Korean Masters Association.)
Grandmaster Han\'s unsurpassed lifetime contribution to Hapkido is greatly honored and appreciated. Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim personally respected and had a close relationship with Grandmaster Han. We express our deepest sympathy to the family.

Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim visited the WKA (World Karate Association) in Tokyo, Japan on November 20, 2007. He also visited Kukkiwon (the World Tae Kwon Do Headquarters) in Seoul, Korea on November 23, 2007.
The Korean Tae Kwon Do Masters Association of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts will have a convention and workshop sponsored by the Korean Cultural Service of New York on February 9, 2008 (Saturday). This event will be held at the Manhattan location, followed by a dinner and a showcase of the popular musical \"Jump\". Grandmaster Ik Hwan Kim is the current president of the Korean Taekwondo Masters Association of New Jersey.
Grandmaster Victor Cervantes who has the longest experience and most respected in Mexico and his organization which is one of the largest in the region will join U.M.I. beginning of this year to expand TKD and Hapkido in Mexico.
Jujitsu Grandmaster Robert Cooper who is well respected in the East Coast and his organization will join U.M.I. as of January 2007.
